CONFIDENTIAL AIR BASE HEADQUARTER BAER FIELD FORT WAYNE 2, INDIANA SPECIAL ORDERS) 6 August 1944 NUMBER 219) EXTRACT The following named O and Em, Ac, on temp dy this sta, are asgd to Shipment 8201-BZ and WP by mil acft o/a 7 Aug 44 to Dow Field, Bangor, Maine, reporting upon arr to the CO thereat for temp dy pending shipt to final overseas destination. This a perm change of sta to an overseas destiontion. APO 17050 c/o Postmaster New York, New York In lieu of subs a per diem of seven-dollars ($7.00) is auth for EM while traveling by air and for periods of temp dy enroute to final overseas destination, in accordance with existing laws and regulations. When O and/or F/O are billeted and subsisted, as outlined in WD Memo @-35-2-42, 30 Sept 1943, per diem will be suspended Officers will be paid in accordance with Cir 260, WD, 1944, in the continental limits of the United States For period of delay enroute to final destination, EM will be monetary allowance in lieu of rat and qrs, as prescribed in accordance with AR 35-4520, when not in an air travel status Items of clothing and equipment, as indicated in individual Clothing and Equipment List "E", as modified by AAF Lrt 65-4, 19 May 44, as amended, will accompany each individual by air Dependents will not accompany nor join personnel. TPA is not auth. Except as may be necessary in the transaction of official business, individuals are prohibited from discussing their overseas destinations even by shipment number or by shipping designator. Each O and EM will comply in matters of security of all activities of the personnel under movement orders; and will not file safe arrival telegrams with commercial agencies while enroute and at domestic or overseas destinations. Quarters of O asgd this sta listed in the order, are considered to be adequate for single O and inadequate for married O.
