5th CCS Reunion 1979-L.jpg (181318 bytes)

5th Combat Cargo Squadron, C-46, X606.  This aircraft is now on display at the Pima Air and Space Museum.   5th Combat Cargo Squadron veteran, Bud Abrams, was a member of the Board in organizing the Pima Air and Space Museum.   The Board of the Museum told Bud, if he wanted to fix up a C-46 for the Museum he was free to do so.    So all on his own, Bud Abrams reclaimed a C-46 from the Air Force Graveyard at Davis Monthan and proceeded in restorting the aircraft for the Museum.   To celebrate the Dedication of the C-46, Bud called upon his former 5th Combat Cargo Squadron mates to help celebrate the  dedication with the 5th Combat Cargo Squadrons first reunion.   Bud who lives in Tucson, owns and operates a machine under the name of  'Abrams Airborne'.   He subcontracts through Motorola and some of his work has been on Moon Missions, Shuttle Mission and most recently on the International Space Station.

I am looking for former members of the 3rd Combat Cargo Group,  1st, Combat Cargo Group, 2nd Combat Cargo Group and the 4th Combat Cargo Group.  In fact I would like to hear from anyone who flew over the Hump during WW II, or flew any Combat Cargo Missions at any time (Berlin Air-Lift, Korea, etc)

Please e-mail comment, suggestions, corrections,etc to: bill@comcar.org
